Our story started at 2011, as the war of prepaid Telecom market share was raging in Africa, Biware started by providing added values solutions to Telecom operator in French Speaking Africa to help them increase revenue and decrease losses.
As they needed to go agile (Go live in less than 6 months), we implemented vertical solutions with Industry Telecom prepackaged Data model and Analytics algorithms. We were producing more than 3 000 data points per customer and tens of predictive models.
The return of experience shows that less than 50% of Data model was populated because of lack of data at Go Live. Also, because of huge number of data points to calculate modeling, machines were struggling to produce the final Analytical Base Table used to run models. So, we assist them to migrate to Big Data technologies (No Sql Database and new appliances) such Hadoop and Massive Parallel Processing (MPP) machines. Average increase in revenue was about 15%.
Hopefully in 2016, Banking sector started to compete over the continent and naturally the competition starts in Morocco. Lack of data / bad quality data is also a reason why banking sector take time before implementing Data Management solutions.
Finally, we also remarked during the last 2 years (2017 – 2019) the emergence of Data analytics in utilities who are investing over the African region to optimize and transform their operations as the industry is under privatization and deregulation. Biware has advise and provide analytics solutions to 2 main energy operators over the continent. 1% of accuracy in demand prevision is equivalent to a gain of few millions of $.
Starting 2018, Biware starts to highly invest in developing its own small analytic applications to address Small and Medium Business market. Biware is convinced that companies have to transform deeply their organization by adopting more automatization end more artificial intelligence in their internal and external processes (Customers, partners & Suppliers).Biware believes that it is the right specialized company that can helps on this.
